West Eugene Wetland Mitigation
Bank Cost Assessment
Objectives
Studies have found that without ongoing stewardship, lands set aside for habitat
protection lose the biological values set for which they were set aside due to the
proliferation of invasive exotic species, deteriorating infrastructure, and uncontrolled
and inappropriate public use. Currently the long term maintenance and
management of restoration wetlands within the West Eugene Wetlands study area
remains uncertain. The need for developing a finance program to fund long term

' maintenance on mitigation lands has been recognized. In order to know how much
funding is necessary, management tasks need to be developed for each restoration
site. The objective of this work program is to develop a range of costs for the
management of mitigation sites in perpetuity.
Work Program
Task 1: Identify all short term and long term tasks associated with existing public
- _ - _ - mitigatio"
n sites in west~ugene: ~ _
Task 2: Using a computer program ,called:.
