t
s
Table 1. Summary of acres of land protected (by type) to date using NAWCA funds relative to what was
listed for NAWCA funds in the Proposal. Comparison of actual accomplishments with milestones listed. in Technical Assessment Question 5
of the Proposal
Table.2 summarizes our accomplishments to date and the milestones listed in our proposal using the
NAWCA funds. In our proposal, we indicated that we would use NAWCA funds and othex funds to purchase
fee title to 382.9 acres. These acres would be from the Lee, Marvin, and Sadri CC parcels. Very soon after
being awarded the NAWCA grant funds, we successfully purchased the Lee and Marvin parcels (these
transactions closed in August, 2002). The City of Eugene now holds fee title to those parcels.
On Apri13, 2003, I wrote you to request a modification to our proposal to use $44,300 of the NAWCA funds
to help purchase a 133-acre conservation easement on the. Decker property. The modification request
included using these 133 acres in lieu of 133 acres of fee title .acquisition. You approved these requests in
writing on Apri125, 2003. The conservation easement transaction closed on November 19, 2003. The
conservation easement is held by the McKenzie River Trust.
On September 30, 2004, we purchased fee title to 67.79 acres on the Cuddeback parcel using. funds from The.
Nature Conservancy and the Bonneville Power Administration. The Nature Conservancy now owns fee title
to this parcel -
We need 110.39 acres of additional fee title acquisition to meet our milestones from the Proposal. Due to a
breakdown in negotiations with the owner of the Sadri CC parcel, we have initiated contact with additional
landowners in the same vicinity as Sadri CC that may be more amenable to selling to the West Eugene
Wetlands Partners at appraised values.
Table 2. Summary ofacres of fee title and conservation easement milestones in Proposal, versus actual
accomplishments to date.. Please note that we received USFWS approval to substitute 133 acres from the
Decker conservation easement. for 133 acres of fee title ac uisition.
A. Pro osal 1.
