You mention the Police Lobby remodel, which was Public Works Good Job
Number 50168 and has the activity code 127166. This was funded for $25,000 under PWF Capital Improvement
Program funding category "61" in FY'99 for programming and design to remodel and expand the Police lobby out to the
south. The construction was to be funded under a subsequent funding cycle. The Facilities Board cancelled this project
because the City's direction is now to pursue a new facility for Police, and quite a bit of designwork was completed
anyway so not all of the $25K is left. In any case, these funds are not available.
I set up another GJN 50228 for just the work to fit another workstation into the supervisors office, which I believe was
funded for about $5,000 under a Police Department operating budget category of some sort while Sandy Henry was here.
We can't use any of the above 61 funds for this task, however. We held up on this workstation project because of the
same concerns about the new facility.
If still available, you could use this for a little layout design work by Jack Berry for a new layout for the Records area after
the carpeting is complete. (I wasn't thinking you would use the whole $5k for this.) It sounded like a way to make sure
your move back in after recarpeting gets you reorganized like you want and it addresses the same issue of the
supervisors work station. If these funds are still intact; we recommend you put them into Public Works Good Job
Number 50228 account code to avoid the hassle of rolling them over to the new fiscal year.
Jean, If you can't find that funding let's talk.
Russ
6024
-----Original Message-----

' From: BREW Bob K
Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2000 10:18 AM
j To: SPRADLING Trent D; REEVES Lynn; STRONACH Jean A
Cc: MECREDY Russ
Subject: RE: Records workstation layout
Here's the status, as I understand it:
The activity code associated with the lobby remodel is: 127166
The capital project code associated with the remodel is: 995493
Our liaison in Public Works Facilities (our project manager) is Russ Mecredy.
For the design work, we have budgeted about $3,500 for Tech Services in object 61734 (Building and Land
Maintenance), and an additional $2,200 in 61800 (Professional Services.) 61800 is probably the better code to use
for design, or we could move some budget into 61891 (Engineer & Design Fees - PSF) Other divisions might want to
chip in on this since they will benefit as well, but that's an item for discussion at higher levels. I don't know if we have
an estimate for what the design work will cost. If any of you do, please let me know how much we're talking about.
At last reckoning, there was $25,000 set aside in the Capital Projects for this project. I'm cc'ing Russ on this, so I'm
sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong. [Russ; have we already put together an agreement on this project (funding and so
on?) If so, can you send me a copy via a-mail or to 777 Pearl rm 106? thanks.]
Let me know if there are further questions, and we'll try to keep this rolling along.
Bob Brew 5092
-----Original Message----- 1
