In May 2001, the Council Subcommittee on Transportation Funding Solutions
recommended a total yearly pavement preservation funding target of $18 million. Staff estimates that
current funding sources for pavement preservation ~i.e., $0.05 local motor vehicle fuel tax and
Transportation SDCs reimbursement components will generate about $3.3 million in revenue for FY10',
dropping to $2.6 million in FY11 and out years. The Eugene Council has directed staff to move forward with
efforts to begin to address the funding gap for pavement preservation with a general obligation ~G4~ bond,
Based on that direction, afive-year G4 bond has been referred to the November 2408 ballot, this item
represents the spending included in the bond measure. If the bond measure does not pass, the unfunded
pavement preservation program need will increase by the amount of the foregone bond proceeds over that
five-year period.
Project Status: Not Surfed In 2008-13 & 2010-15 CIP.
