Public Works <br /> Parks & Open Space Division <br /> City of Eugene <br /> 1820 Roosevelt Blvd. <br /> MEMORANDUM Eugene, Oregon 97402 <br /> (541)682-4800 <br /> (541 j 682-4882 FAX <br /> www.ci.eugene.or.us <br /> Date: September 5, 2003 <br /> To: Dennis Taylor, City Manager <br /> From: Carolyn Weiss, Parks and Open Space Planning <br /> Subject: Interagency Agreement- Grant funding for Delta Ponds Recreation Project <br /> Pazks and Open Space staff submitted a successful grant application to the Oregon Parks and Recreation <br /> Departnent in the spring of 2003. The application requested funding for recreation improvements <br /> related to the Delta Ponds Restoration Project in the amount of $250,000. The funding request was <br /> approved in August, 2003. <br /> Grant matching funds total $820,000 or 77% of the tota] recreation project budget. The matching funds <br /> come from a vaziety of sources as follows: <br /> Army Corp of Engineers $353,000 <br /> POS Bond Funds $200,000 <br /> CIP '04 Budget $250,000 <br /> Donated labor $17,000 <br /> Attached is an agreement for signature, between the Oregon Park and Recreation Department and the City <br /> of Eugene. The agreement commits the City to the work outlined in the grant application, and identifies <br /> procedures for reimbursement and record keeping. The procedures aze reasonable, and staff are excited <br /> about the work these funds will facilitate. Grant funding will facilitate recreation improvements such as <br /> trails, bridges, viewing structures, interpretive signage, benches, portable restroom enclosures, and <br /> parking. <br /> Please contact Carolyn Weiss, Delta Ponds Recreation Project Manager, with any questions, 682-4914. <br /> <br /> Q~ <br /> <br />
