~ a/ .~
~~~ ~~
~ond Lane - Fore~er Potholed?
Or is there n smooth solution?
Come to a public meeting on Wednesdny, April 9, nt 7 p.m. in
the Green Room at the Sheldon Community Center, next door to
Sheldon High School.
City Councilmnn Mike Clnrk, who represents this nren on the
Council, will be there, nlong with Eugene Public Works Director
Kurt Corey and Mnrk Schoening, hend of Public Works'
Engineering Division.
The Public Works officiQls will discuss possible improvement
alternntives w/costs. Councilman Clnrk will discuss what residents
might do to work within city policies or try to chnnge them.
Bond Lnne was originully a county street, annexed along with the
rest of this area into the city in the late 1950s: - It has had no
known city improvements and only dubious maintenance since then.
But it has been slowly destroyed by 50+ years of traffic, by being
dug up (nnd not properly repaired nfterwnrd) for sewer and wuter
line instnllation, nnd multiple individunl hookups to both for new
residences, by city detour of heavy Cal Young Road traffic onto
Bond, and by heavy trucks and construction equipment used on
new subdivisions along the street.
Is it uny wonder that it's Q mess?
Questions about the meeting?
