Land Use Patterns and Plans - It is important . that airport <br />master :planning programs include off-airport as well as on- <br />airport land use plans. In support . of this requirement, <br />~ plannin~ agencies , will be contacted to obtain information <br />- concenung existing land use in the vicinity of Mahlon Sweet <br />Field and planned uses for areas likely- to be affected by <br />, " Airport'and aircraft activity. <br />Input obtained from this effort will be used to develop <br />recommendations for possible nonaviation use of Airport <br />property, as well as for possible uses such as a hotel site or <br />other commercial development. <br />3. Com~uterization of Data Bank <br />AvPlan will use Lotus 1-2-3 to computerize the inventory data bank. <br />This computerized data bank will be IBM-PC compatible. Throughout <br />the data collection process, information will be input into the <br />computerized data base for use in the continuous planning process. <br />.. This automated bank of informatiom will allow the Airport to update <br />the facility .files continually as portions of the recommended plan <br />are irnplemented and as activity updates become available. This <br />. computenzed data base will provide a highly updatable plan. <br />4. Other Inventor~Efforts <br />Ma~ping of existing Airport facilities will also be accomplished <br />dunng the inventory effort. The City of Eugene will supply existing <br />base maps for use in the inventory effort. New aerial photography <br />will be used to update existing base maps as will information <br />gathered from on-site inspections. Additional funding may be <br />required to fund this activity. <br />Output: The output of Element 1 will b.e a working paper (interim report) <br />summarizing historical and existing facilities and conditions at <br />Mahlon Sweet Field. In addition .to documentation of the Airport's <br />• - inve'ntory element, data bases for Airport activity and facilities will <br />also be prepared. <br />Coordi.nation: AvPlan will work closely with the City of Eugene on this element to <br />ensure that maximum efficiency is achieved in utilizing existing data. <br />.
