Sample,population(s) of frequent voters living wi hin t~e <br />River Road area must be randomly selected. <br />1.2.c. Results of phone survey(s} must be accurate to no less <br />~ than 95% confidence level plus or minus five percent and <br />must fully address the goals stated above. <br />1.3 The contractor must develop actual te:lephone survey instrument(s). <br />The contractor must cooperate with City staff and other consultants hired by <br />the City in the prepara;tion of the survey instrument(s). The contractor must <br />pretest survey inst;ruments to.assure that they are (a~ valid and (b) able to <br />be administered. Prior to conducting pretests, the contractor must present <br />draft survey ins~Yuments~to the City for approval. Prior to administering <br />surveys, the contractor~must present to the City its (modified) survey in-_ . <br />strument(s) and the results of its pretest(s}. ~ <br />1.4 The contractor.must conduct survey(.s). Surveys are to be adminis- <br />tered by telephone at such times_of the day and on such days of the week as <br />will mirrimize the number of "no contact" calls and wi11 minimize response <br />bias to the greatest extent possible. Telephone interviewing must 6e con- <br />ducted 6y members of the`contractor's staff. <br />1.3 The contr.actow must„provide a written summary of results, including <br />summary statistics.for al:l:survey questions. Cross.ta6ulations must be <br />provided for survey results-to indicate how relevant sub-samples of the <br />population have responded to each of.the questions. Sub-samples must be <br />structured to identify signi'ficantly different views held by different seg- <br />ments of Riyer Road area voters. <br />1.4 The contractor must provide the City with one camera ready original <br />of the narrative report and 12 copies by the date specified. <br />1.5 The contr.actor.must provide a narrative report interpreting survey <br />data and highlighting major findings. The raw data, summary statistics, <br />cross tabulations, and narrative report must be delivered to the City by <br />~ 30, 1990. ~ ~ <br />~~~' .." 30' t`~i0 - / <br />1.6 The City understands that the cost of additional survey and focus <br />group work will be as follows: <br />Short Surve s , ~J~~^~ ~\~ <br />~ ~~ <br />These costs assume a sample size of 400 (Standard Error = 5.0) with no <br />open-ended questions.
