Thank you to Trevor Taylor of the City of Eugene, for leading this effort,
and pulling together a synthesis of the materials. Jonathan Soll of The Nature Conservancy
has agreed to be the meeting facilitator. There will be a note taker on hand to help keep
track of the discussion for future reference. Please find attached below, the Agenda and
WEW Charter Discussion Notes, as well as links to the various plans and associated maps
that WEW Partners have participated in over the last couple of years.
Statement of Need:
The West Eugene Wetland Partnership was established to facilitate
implementation of the West Eugene Wetland Plan. Over the years the
partnership has expanded, collaborating in new areas on new projects
including many increasingly outside of those identified in the West
Eugene Wetland Plan. At present the WEW partnership structure has
stretched to address the variety of plans, projects and programs that
are now relevant. The WET agreed that taking a look at the charter and
structure and considering modifications, or perhaps reformulation, would
be not only timely but a useful conversation for the partners.
I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow afternoon.
Sincerely,
Patricia (Pat) Johnston
West Eugene Wetlands Project Manager
Bureau of Land Management
541-520-2159
Background Notes For Discussion and Agenda See attached
Regional R2R Vision Map
Rivers to Ridges Vision Map
Relevant Plans and Strategies
West Eugene Wetlands Plan
Rivers to Ridges
Ridgeline Area Vision and Action Plan
Metro Waterways Study
1
