Statement of Partnership <br /> To enable partner agencies and organizations to effectively share in the efficient and <br /> coordinated operation and management of the west Eugene wetlands system. <br /> The Wetland Executive Team (WET) is established by this Statement of Partnership. WET <br /> is a partnership of federal, state, and local governments and non-profit organizations <br /> <br /> who believe that coordinated, shared management of the west Eugene wetlands <br /> enables us to be more effective and use limited resources more efficiently. is the major <br /> coordinating body for intergovernmental and interagency management actions <br /> affecting the wetlands project area. coordinates management activities; it is not an <br /> advisory committee that makes policy or legal recommendations to any local, state, <br /> or federal decision makers. <br /> Goals and Objectives <br /> 1. Provide guidance and fiscal oversight to the management of the west Eugene <br /> wetlands system within the existing policy and legal framework outlined in the West <br /> Eugene Wetlands Plan and other public policy documents related to the project area. <br /> 2. Provide the network for communication and coordinated decision-making regarding <br /> capital improvements and management of the west Eugene wetlands system. <br /> 3. Provide efficiencies by cooperating in the management of the wetlands system in ways <br /> that take advantage of the strengths of the partners in a shared arrangement for the <br /> mutual benefit of the environment and the public. <br /> 4. Provide a forum for resolving conflicts in the spirit of using open communications as an <br /> opportunity to find positive solutions to problems. <br /> 5. Use long-range planning as the basis for sound management decision making and <br /> bring vision and creativity to the achievement of the multiple objectives outlined in the <br /> applicable long-range plans. <br /> 6. Review and evaluate wetland management efforts for effectiveness and conformance <br /> with the WET's mission, goals, and objectives and the goals, objectives, policies, and <br /> recommended actions of applicable long-range plans. <br /> 7. Establish priorities for research related to the wetlands system. <br /> 8. Strive to provide financial stability and excellence to the wetlands management <br /> system. <br /> 9. Work together for success and celebrate and communicate achievements to the <br /> partners, the public, and our respective officials and leaders. <br /> 10. Keep elected officials informed about the West Eugene Wetlands Program. <br /> 1 1. Carry out other necessary tasks and programs, in consultation with each other and our <br /> respective officials that further the advancement of the west Eugene wetlands area as <br /> a local, state, and national resource. <br /> 12. Take advantage of opportunities to add new partners. <br /> <br />
