Andersen, who has been public works <br /> director at th City of Eugene for the past 16 years, will remain in her position here through June. <br /> In her new position in Boulder, Andersen will have consolidated responsibility for public <br /> works, parks nd recreation, open spaces, mountain parks, and environmental affairs. "I am truly <br /> excited about ~i he opportunity in Boulder and look forward to new challenges and adventures," <br /> Andersen sai "At the same time I will truly miss working at the City of Eugene. This is an <br /> incredible org nization, and I am proud to have been part of it for the last 16 years." <br /> Ander en was hired as director of the Eugene Public Works Department in July 1984. <br /> Prior to that, he had worked as county engineer for Lane County and as an assistant <br /> transportation planning engineer for the City of Eugene. In addition to her responsibilities as <br /> Eugene Publi Works director, Andersen serves on the national board of the American Public <br /> Works Associ tion and is active in a number of other professional organizations, including the <br /> national Tran portation Research Board. <br /> "We'r Barry to see her leave," said Eugene City Manager Jim Johnson.
