Everyone is eager <br /> t work outdoorsb arid one of the favorite chores after a long, dreary winter is washing the family car. <br /> ut did you kno that car-washing can actually hurt the environment? Soapsuds that run down the <br /> c band into the stdrmwater drain go right into local waterways, without being treated. Even <br /> iodegradable so p Is highly toxic to plants, fish, and other marine life. But there are ways you can <br /> ve a clean car itkrout causing any harm. <br /> One of th most environmentally-sound ways to clean vehicles is to take them to a commercial <br /> c wash. All co mercial car wash sites in Eugene drain to the wastewater plant, where water is <br /> <br /> t Bated and purifi d before being released into the Willamette River. Another option is to wash the <br /> hide yourself, sing no soap and lots of elbow grease.
