SHELDON BOOSTERS <br /> NEWS RELEASE <br /> August 25, 2000 <br /> CONTACT: Gary Haliski, Sheldon Boosters, 683-4781 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> SHELDON BOOSTERS TO DEDICATE NEW FIELD ON SEPTEMBER 1 <br /> The Sheldon Boosters are sponsoring the dedication of the new all-weather field at <br /> Sheldon High School on Friday, September 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. Parking is available at the <br /> Sheldon High School parking lot, 2455 Willakenzie Road, and at the Meadowlark/Buena Vista <br /> School, 1500 Queens Way. Participants are asked to not park at the Sheldon Community Center <br /> or on neighborhood streets. <br /> Eugene Mayor Jim Torrey will be on hand to dedicate the new field, which was <br /> constructed in a partnership between the City of Eugene and the 4J School District. The field is <br /> part of the new Sheldon Youth Sports Park that is nearing completion. A ceremony to celebrate <br /> Eugene's three new youth sports parks - at Sheldon, Churchill and Cal Young schools -will be <br /> held September 28. <br /> The September 1 booster club event at Sheldon includes a barbecue from 5 to 8 p.m. (a <br /> hamburger meal is $3 and a hotdog meal is $2), sales of Sheldon logo apparel, soccer and <br /> football scrimmages, and a performance by the Sheldon Dance Club. <br /> For more information about the event, or to learn how you can become a Sheldon <br /> Booster, call Janice Mart at 683-8696. <br /> <br /> ~ <br /> <br />
