~ -I <br /> September 23, 2000 <br /> CONTACT: Eric Jones, Public Affairs Manager, 682-5523 . <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5262 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> NEW CAL YOUNG YOUTH SPORTS PARK TO BE DEDICATED SEPTEMBER 28 <br /> The dedication of the new Cal Young Youth Sports Park will be held Thursday, September <br /> 28, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the park, 2555 Gilham Road (next to Cal Young Middle School). <br /> Area residents are invited to join Mayor Jim Torrey, City Council members, and School <br /> District 4J officials in the celebration. The park was built cooperatively by the Eugene School <br /> District and the City of Eugene using funds from a school district bond measure and the City's <br /> parks and open space bond measure. <br /> The Cal Young Youth Sports Park includes a skate bowl, full-size basketball court, <br /> children's play area, restrooms, walkways, path lighting, and a large soccer field. <br /> Other activities at the Thursday event include skateboarding demonstrations, displays and <br /> prize drawings sponsored by GI Joe's, ahoop-shooting contest, and refreshments.
