The workshop schedule
includes an overview of the findings from the first workshop and a planning update from 7 to
7:30 p.m., a discussion on a vision statement for the park from 7:30 to 8 p.m., small-group
discussions on goals and strategies from 8 to 9 p.m., and general discussion from 9 to 9:30 p.m.
More than 300 park neighbors and other interested parties have been invited to share their
ideas on creating a new master plan for Skinner Butte Park. During the first workshop held last
spring, community members gathered to share their ideas and participate in identifying key
issues and concerns for the park.
Much work and research has been done since the first workshop, and staff will present
new information as well as information in response to questions raised at the first workshop.
Discussion groups will focus on the park as a whole, as well as specific areas such as natural
resources, history, park amenities and circulation. The next public workshop will focus on
evaluating a draft version of the master plan based on the vision statement, goals, strategies and
other ideas developed during this workshop.
