- ~J ~ i i ~ <br /> ~ - ¦ <br /> October 27, 2000 - <br /> CONTACT: Mike Shields, Project Manager, 682-5560 <br /> Gale Mills, Project Engineer, 954-3833 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> TRAFFIC ADVISORY <br /> OAKWAY ROAD CLOSED TO SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC OCT. 31-NOV. 2 <br /> Oakway Road will be closed to southbound traffic between Cal Young Road and <br /> Oakmont for several days during the week of October 30 to allow excavation for a new <br /> wastewater pump station. <br /> On Monday, October 30, crews under contract to the City of Eugene are scheduled to <br /> begin digging up Oakway Road near St. Andrews Drive to reach a large, underground <br /> wastewater pipe. Traffic will be allowed in both directions on Monday, but motorists may <br /> experience delays. Beginning Tuesday, October 31, and continuing for at least three days, <br /> southbound traffic on Oakway will be detoured to alternate routes. Northbound traffic will be <br /> <br /> - allowed through the construction zone, but there may be periodic delays. Local access to homes <br /> in the area will be provided. Through traffic is advised to use Coburg Road as an alternate route. <br /> The City of Eugene is constructing a new wastewater pump station to replace a pump <br /> station built in 1963.
