I ~ ~ <br /> ~ <br /> December 1, 2000 <br /> CONTACT: Mark Snyder, Urban Forester, 682-4800 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> ADAMS STREET TREES TOPIC OF MEETING ON THURSDAY <br /> A meeting will be held Thursday, December 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the 4J Administration <br /> Auditorium, 200 North Monroe Street, to discuss the trees on Adams Street identified by EWEB <br /> in 1998 as potentially hazardous. At the meeting, Eugene Urban Forester Mark Snyder, <br /> Ashland consulting arborist Pete Seda, and Whiteaker residents Mili White, Adam Wendt, Bob <br /> Graef and Steve Bouton will report on the conclusions of the Adams Street Ad Hoc Committee. <br /> Information also will be provided on Seda's recommendations for hazard mitigation, restorative <br /> pruning, neighborhood tree planting, and the start of undergrounding work by EWEB. <br /> EWER board members approved funding in August to underground electric lines on <br /> Adams from Third to Fifth. Excavation is scheduled to begin in late November.
