~ ~ ~ <br /> December 21, 2000 <br /> CONTACT: Eric Jones, Public Affairs Manager, 682-5523 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5262 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> EUGENE'S DRAFT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW <br /> Eugene's draft Capital Improvements Program (CIP) for the next six fiscal years is now <br /> available for review and comment. <br /> The CIP is updated every two years to forecast the City's capital needs over asix-year <br /> period based on various long-range plans, goals and policies. In the first two fiscal years of the <br /> draft CIP, approximately $34 million is envisioned to be spent on capital projects in five major <br /> categories: airport; building and park facilities, stormwater, transportation, and wastewater. The <br /> draft CIP document includes listings of projects, maps, project cost estimates, and information <br /> about each of the major categories. <br /> Three opportunities will be provided for public input on the draft CIP. A public open <br /> house will be held Wednesday, January 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the First Floor Conference Room <br /> of the Public Works Building, 858 Pearl Street, to provide an informal opportunity for the public <br /> to ask questions and offer comments to City staff. On Tuesday, January 16, starting at 6:30 <br /> p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 777 Pearl Street, the Eugene Planning Commission will take <br /> oral and written testimony.
