The free event is open <br /> to the public a d runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the maintenance yard, 1820 Roosevelt Blvd. <br /> As in t e past, the department's administration, airport, engineering, maintenance, <br /> transportation and wastewater divisions will offer an array of displays, demonstrations, and <br /> activities desi~ned to give people of all ages an understanding and appreciation of the many <br /> services Publi Works provides in the community. Highlights this year will include the <br /> department's fforts to save energy and preserve and protect the environment. <br /> More t an 1,000 local schoolchildren have signed up for tours, mostly in the morning. <br /> Members of tf~e public are encouraged to visit during the afternoon to avoid the morning <br /> crowds. Veh cle and bike parking is available at the maintenance yard, and the LTD bus #40 <br /> Rayai has se ice to 18'h and Roosevelt every 30 minutes.
