Although the exercises are a regular part of the Fire & EMS <br /> Department's training program, they are especially important this year given the dry weather in <br /> the area. Th wooded areas of the city, in particular, are threatened. <br /> On the butte, (fire companies will practice various types of wildland fire suppression operations <br /> and the use o personal fire shelters, as well as other exercises. No live fire will be used in the <br /> training, and o vegetation will be disturbed.
