i I <br /> I <br /> i i i i <br /> _ ~ _ <br /> i <br /> June 21, 200 <br /> CONTACT: Robin Hostick, Parks Planner, 682-4915 <br /> From Public I I~ formation Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMMEDI TE RELEASE <br /> ASOR PARK MASTER PLAN WORKSHOP SCHEDULED JUNE 28 <br /> A second workshop to plan the future of Rasor Park will be held Thursday, June 28, <br /> from 7 to 9 p.~. in the cafeteria of Kelly Middle School, 850 Howard Avenue. <br /> A seri s of community outreach efforts began in February 2001 to involve Eugene <br /> residents in d veloping a new concept and management plan for Rasor Park, an undeveloped <br /> 10-acre parc~l that is part of the riverfront park system between the lower end of River Road <br /> and the Willa ~I ette River. Outreach efforts to date have included an initial workshop on <br /> February 15, neighborhood survey, a web site, and postcards, posters, advertisements, and <br /> news release . <br /> The a~enda for the June 28 master plan workshop includes a review of the last <br /> I <br /> workshop results, discussion of a vision statement, goals, and policies for the park, and <br /> discussion of draft design concepts. Participants will also have an opportunity to brainstorm a <br /> new name for Ithe park. <br /> Input the workshop will be used by Public Works Parks Planning staff and a <br /> consultant tea to develop a draft version of the park master plan, which is expected to be <br /> available for r view in late summer. Draft technical reports and other planning materials are <br /> currently available at www.ci.eugene.or.us/pw/parks.
