<br /> FRIDAY, O TOBER 12, 2001-11 AM <br /> <br /> For Immediat Release <br /> The Eugene irport is pleased to announce that Horizon Air will continue and upgrade its twice- <br /> daily non-sto service from Eugene to Los Angeles. <br /> Following a r view of its entire flight schedule in the post-September 11`" environment, Horizon <br /> officials have informed Eugene Airport Manager Bob Noble that they will maintain the current <br /> Eugene -Los Angeles schedule thru November 24`" while working on a new schedule for Eugene <br /> to begin on ovember 25`". They anticipate the new schedule will provide more convenient <br /> departures fo the business traveler and it should be reflected in the Horizon reservation system <br /> by October 2 <br /> In addition, orizon has confirmed it will upgrade the aircraft serving Eugene from the current <br /> Fokker-28s t the new CRJ 700s. According to Noble, "these brand new RJs are slightly larger <br /> versions oft e planes America West Express now uses on its popular Eugene-Phoenix non-stop <br /> flights." Ma ufactured by Bombardier of Canada, they fly quietly at well over 500 mph and <br /> feature large ,more comfortable seats throughout the plane. The new CRJ 700s are scheduled to <br /> begin servin Eugene on October 21S` (just in time for those traveling to the Oregon-UCLA game <br /> on Novembe 10`") <br /> Noble also a ounced that Horizon has cut fares on all of its flights including Eugene-LAX. The <br /> reduced fare for round trip travel from Eugene to Los Angeles is now $178 for tickets purchased <br /> by October 6`".
