Sponsored by the City of Eugene, LTD's <br /> Commuter Solutions, Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Eugene, Inc., and Lane <br /> Regional r Pollution Authority, Commute Challenge 2001 has over 63 businesses and public <br /> agencies s gned up to compete for the greatest percentage of participants on challenge day, <br /> November 7. ,Employees can walk, ride the bus, bicycle, or carpool to work; any method except <br /> driving alo a will be counted. Winning businesses will be announced November 8. <br /> Co mute Challenge 2001 offers the opportunity for businesses to promote to their <br /> employee different options for traveling to work. On the challenge day, they compete with <br /> other busi esses in their size category. Many businesses have chosen to spice up their <br /> promotio by challenging other businesses. For instance, Dot Dotson's has challenged Paul's <br /> Bicycle ay of Life. Gateway Country has challenged neighbor Barnes and Nobles, and OBEC <br /> Engineeri g has challenged Balzhiser & Hubbard Engineers.
