i i 3 i <br /> - ~ - <br /> November 9, 001 <br /> CONTACT: Carolyn Weiss, Park Planner, 682-4914 <br /> From Public I ormation Section, 6$2-5523 <br /> FOR IMMEDI TE RELEASE <br /> BETHEL OMMUNITY PARK SUBJECT OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP ON NOVEMBER 13 <br /> A publi workshop to discuss plans for Bethel Community Park will be held Tuesday, <br /> November 13, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Meadow View School cafeteria, 1855 Legacy Street. <br /> The 3 -acre park is located near the west end of Barger Drive and is intended to serve a <br /> variety of nee s for the Bethel community. A portion of the park has already been constructed, <br /> including par ng lots and four youth-size baseball fields constructed in partnership with the <br /> Babe Ruth B seball Organization. <br /> Futur plans for the park include a skateboard park, play area, restrooms, basketball <br /> courts, picnic shelter, dog off-leash area, walkways, and natural areas. Due to the size of the <br /> park and the umber of proposed facilities, construction is expected to occur in phases over the <br /> next several ears. Improvements will be built primarily with funds from Eugene's voter- <br /> <br /> , approved par s and open space bond measure. Plans for 2002 include construction of the <br /> skatepark an restroom facilities. <br /> The f cus of the November 13 workshop is to provide information on current and future <br /> phases of pa k construction and to receive public input on proposed improvements.
