<br /> i <br /> June 19, 2 2 <br /> CONTACT: Kurt Yeiter, Senior Planner, 682-8379 <br /> From Publi Information Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> DOWNTOWN PLANNING OPEN HOUSE SCHEDULED THURSDAY <br /> An i formational, public open house to kick off the update of the Downtown Plan and <br /> Central Are Transportation Study (CATS) is scheduled for Thursday, June 20, from 4:30 to 7 <br /> p.m., at On East Broadway (at the corner of Willamette and Broadway). <br /> In a series of self-guided displays, the open house will highlight the many changes <br /> occurring i downtown Eugene, and directives from the recently completed Vision for Greater <br /> Downtown ugene and other studies. Public comments received during the open house will <br /> help guide he planning now under way in the downtown area. <br /> The last plan for downtown Eugene was developed in 1984. An updated Downtown <br /> <br /> ~ Plan will in orporate new policy directions resulting from the Vision for Greater Downtown <br /> <br /> i <br /> Eugene, u ated CATS, new parking studies, TransPlan, federal courthouse plans, North End <br /> Scoping Gr up report, new review of possible incentives, and much more. <br /> The City is collaborating with the Downtown Advocacy Alliance, which is hosting an <br /> exercised cribed as "a workshop designed to encourage, empower and educate citizens <br /> about the p ople, places and history of downtown," the same evening. The workshop will begin <br /> <br /> ~ at 5:30 p.m and take place at the Actors Cabaret, 996 Willamette Street.
