Half of the proceeds from each Duck will be dedicated to a <br /> "Charity of hoice," 40 percent goes to offset the costs associated with the project, and the <br /> remaining 1 percent will be divided equally among participating Duck artists. There will also <br /> <br /> i <br /> be a silent uction featuring artwork by Duck artists and a variety of merchandise from area <br /> businesses Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Limited seating is available for the <br /> first 225 tic ets sold. Advance tickets can be purchased at The Wild Duck Brewery & <br /> Restaurant and. Downtown Eugene Inc. <br /> The transformation of Broadway into a "Great Street" was a key step identified in the <br /> Vision for reater Downtown Eugene. Voters strongly supported the street's reopening on the <br /> September 2001 ballot. Construction began last April, and Broadway was reopened to <br /> vehicular t ffic on Monday, September 23, meeting the target of having the street construction <br /> complete i time for the 2002 Eugene Celebration. The public's response to the street <br /> reopening as been positive. <br /> Fu ding for the $2.4 million project was provided by the Lane County Capital Project <br /> Partnershi Program ($1.6 million), the City of Eugene ($600,000), and Downtown Eugene, <br /> Inc.'s solic tation of $200,000 from Broadway property owners. The final construction costs are <br /> not expect d to exceed the $2.4 million budgeted for the project. <br /> <br />
