Segment currently is not open to the public. <br /> • Cost: $2.5 million, including a substantial contribution by adjacent property owners to construct the <br /> causeway The City's share of the project cost is coming from transportation systems development <br /> charges ( DCs), which are collected from developers to respond to increased capacity needs related <br /> to growth 'n the community. <br /> • Segments previously completed: South boundary of River Island Estates to Greenacres Road. <br /> • Length: t o miles long <br /> • Status of onstruction: segment from Greenacres Road to Owosso Bridge completed in 1998, <br /> segment f om Owosso Bridge to south boundary of River Island Estates completed in 1999. <br /> • Cost of b th segments approximately $2 million, funded through federal transportation grant and <br /> transporta ion SDCs. <br /> With the com letion of the final segment of the East Bank Trail, the east side of the Willamette River <br /> off-street bike path will run almost eight miles from Greenacres Road in north Eugene to West D Street <br /> in Springfield . The riverside path on the west side of the river runs almost five miles from Owosso <br /> Bridge to Aut en Bridge. <br /> Fern Rid e P th <br /> Segment cur ently under construction: Terry Street to Greenhill Road at Royal Avenue. <br /> Length: about 2.5 miles <br /> Status of cons ruction: work currently under way. Bridges and most of concrete bike path through new <br /> wetland area i stalled. Railings, fencing, lighting and landscaping scheduled to be completed by <br /> summer 2003. <br /> Cost: $2.9 mil ion, primarily federal highway and Corps of Engineers funds, plus City matching funds. <br /> Completion o this extension of Fern Ridge Path will allow users to travel from the University of Oregon <br /> campus on th 15~' Avenue "Green Street" to the Fern Ridge Path starting at the Lane County <br /> <br /> ~ Fairgrounds a d west through Meadowlark Prairie, finally connecting with Greenhill Road. The <br /> extension will include a wildlife observatory along Greenhill Road and interpretive signage about the <br /> <br /> I, cultural and a ological aspects of wetlands. <br /> <br />
