Eugene' Parks and Open Space Division and the Library, Recreation and Cultural Services apartment are developing a comprehensive plan for parks, recreation programs and open space. To nsure that the Ian reflects the community's diverse needs, the City wants to hear from Eugene esidents of all gas, abilities, and interests-from bird-watchers to skateboarders, from West Eugene o South Hitls r sidents, from school children to retirees, and from fiododendron enthusiasts to ndangered sp cies advocates. "We wa t residents to play an active role in how parks and recreation services are provided in the future," say Parks and Open Space Planning Manager Andrea Riner. "We need to listen to residents to re Ily know what the community wants and needs." The cu ant plan, created in 1989, is now outdated. The new plan will build upon current planning effort , providing a vision for facilities and services, as well as practical steps for achieving that vision.
