Drivers and <br /> pedestrians are urged to use caution in the area as users adjust to the new traffic control <br /> device. <br /> The signal was installed in response to neighborhood concerns about the ability of <br /> pedestrian to safely cross WiNamette Street to reach nearby bus stops and businesses. New <br /> pedestrian afety features include striped crosswalks on Willamette Street and 25~' Avenue, <br /> pedestrian ush buttons, and lighted "walk" indicators. <br /> Adv nce warning signs will be posted to alert motorists, who will see standard red, <br /> yellow and reen signals for traffic on Willamette Street and 25`~ Avenue. The signal does not <br /> include pro ected (green arrow) turns in either direction. <br /> Co struction of the signal was done by City crews with used equipment to hold down <br /> costs.
