Both flights wilt use regional jets with a capacity of
50 passenger adding a total of 100 seats a day to the Eugene Airport flight schedule.
Eugene Cha ber President Dave Hauser says, "Members of the Eugene/Springfield business
community ar excited about the United Airlines decision. Because the additional flight will be an early
morning dep ore making business connections will be even easier from Eugene." Hauser adds,
"With the add ion of Medford and Las Vegas, the Eugene Airport now serves eight destinations on a
daily basis; in 1998 we had service to only four. Today business travelers enjoy direct service to
Seattle, Port) nd, LA, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Medford. Given the challenges
of the airline i dustry and the associated plight that it brings to communities our size, Eugene is well
positioned fo even more growth in airline service."
Eugene Airp rt Manager Bob Noble adds that current United Express flights to San Francisco are
flying with an average passenger load of 84% of capacity, a good indicator that there is strong
demand and a need for additional service. The addition of these new United Express flights in May will
bring the to I number of daily departures and arrivals at the Eugene Airport to 58; a 16% increase
since last ye r.
For more inf rmation, please contact Bob Noble at the Eugene Airport (682-5430).
