To allow adequate time for the excavation
of the existi g paving and rubberized crossing materials and the installation of preformed
concrete pa els, the intersections will be closed for two or three days and through traffic will be

I, directed to se alternate routes.

I
Onc the work has been completed on the six intersections between Hilyard and

Ali Washington streets, Union Pacific will determine its schedule for upgrading the remaining

I~ railroad cros ings in Eugene.

I~' Upd ted information on the construction project will be provided on the City of Eugene's
traffic relief otline, 984-8484, and on the city's web site at www.ci.eugene.or.us/pw/traffic.
Shawn - UP Is finishing up on the High Street crossing and will start work on the Pearl Street
crossing on onday, June 23.
Regarding y ur question about work on Coburg Road, the excavation is related to a private
residential d velopment project. The developer has permission from the City to dig in the public
street, but I on't have any details about the specifics of the development or the excavation.

' Bottom line: it's not City of Eugene road construction.
FYI, I'll prob bly be sending out a news release about summer road paving in Eugene later this
week.
Pu is Works • Administration • City of Eugene • 858 Pearl Street • Eugene, OR 97401
Phone: (541) 682-5262 • FAX: (541) 682-6826 • www.ci.eugene.or.us
