Nearby, an informal basketball court will double as a place to hold
neighborhood events, surrounded by a berm for seating and additional privacy for the adjacent
homes. P~ths will curve gently through the park, providing a key bicycle route and helping to
reconnect t~e neighborhood with new crosswalks to the Oakway Center, while asoft-surface
jogging/wal~Cing trail will take park users on a winding, quarter-mile loop through the meadows.
New park furniture, such as benches, trash cans, and a drinking fountain will top it all off.
The~'~ park design is based on input gathered by City of Eugene staff from neighbors at a
series of p blic workshops held in the winter and spring of 2002. Grant's Landscape Service is
the contractor on the $500,000 project, which is on schedule f r completion in November.
# # #
Pulblic Works • Administration • City of Eugene • 858 Pearl Street • Eugene, OR 97401
Phone: (541) 682-5262 • FAX: (541 j 682-6826 • www.ci.eugene.or.us
