The <br /> i media and public are invited to attend and learn more about the RiverPlay <br /> project. A performance of an excerpt of the opera "Carmen" follows as part of the <br /> i <br /> Hult's free noon concert series. <br /> ~ WHEN: Thursday, December 18, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. <br /> ! WHERE: Hult Center lobby, One Eugene Center, near main entrance off of W. 7"' Avenue <br /> i <br /> WHY: According to input gathered from the community in developing the master plans <br /> i <br /> for Skinner Butte and Alton Baker parks and the 1998 parks and open space <br /> . bond measure, Eugene is ready for a regional playground. With pledges of <br /> support from local service organizations, park planners talked to children, <br /> parents, and other interested community members at the Eugene Celebration, <br /> area schools, and a public workshop this past fall and designed two different but <br /> complementary playgrounds, connected by the Willamette River-one at Skinner <br /> Butte Park and one at Alton Baker Park.
