During a declared snow <br /> ~ or ice eme gency, parked vehicles are not allowed on Eugene's designated priority snow routes. <br /> Detailed in ormation on priority snow routes can be found on the Internet at <br /> www.ci.eu ene.or.us/pw/icesnow. <br /> Po ions of many streets, especially those in the south hills, remain slippery, and <br /> motorists re cautioned that patches of ice may continue for several days if temperatures <br /> i continue t hover near or below the freezing mark. <br /> Mo orists, bicyclists, and pedestrians are cautioned to be careful when driving, bicycling, <br /> or walking n sanded roads, bike paths, sidewalks, or pedestrian crosswalks until the sand has <br /> been swe up. The city's main arterials and adjacent bike lanes will be the first priority for sand <br /> pickup. T e sand collected from the cleanup effort will be used throughout the year on City <br /> street mai tenance projects. <br /> Pr perty owners are reminded that they are responsible for clearing ice, snow, and sand <br /> from the si ewalks next to their property so they are safe for pedestrians. <br /> <br /> 'I <br /> Pu lic Works crews have worked round the clock for the past several days to plow and <br /> l <br /> sand stree s, clean up street trees damaged by the storm, and keep the City's emergency fleet <br /> operations running. Eugene residents can assist in the clean-up by reporting damaged City <br /> street tree to the Public Works Department at 682-4800. <br /> Th City's second round of leaf collection was temporarily suspended as leaf crews <br /> worked on plowing and sanding operations. Leaf collections will resume once the streets are <br /> free of ice nd snow.
