All other interested <br /> community embers should join the volunteer corps at the F.M. Wilkins Shelter at 2200 Summit <br /> s <br /> Avenue in t e park. Salsa and bean dip, courtesy of Emerald VaNey Kitchen, will be served as <br /> fuel for the olunteers in their rigorous work. <br /> t "Du ng the past three years, a concerted effort has been underway to remove English <br /> ivy as part f a comprehensive forest restoration program in the park," explains John Moriarty, <br /> Hendricks ark Forest Management Plan coordinator. "Once the ivy is removed, we have to <br /> protect the eared areas from other invasive plants which move in. These volunteers will help <br /> us stay ah ad of the weeds." <br /> Ea h Share of Oregon, formerly Environmental Federation of Oregon, raises funds for <br /> 69 environ entai groups and is dedicated to providing a convenient way for Oregonians to <br /> support gr ups working for the environment. In 2003, Earth Share campaigns statewide raised <br /> over $670, 00, an eight percent increase over 2002. Workers in Lane County contributed about <br /> <br /> E 10 percen of that total. <br /> "E ery year we hear from employees who support Earth Share through their charitable <br /> campaign that they want to do more," says local Earth Share representative Lucy Vinis.
