The heavy-duty concrete bench bears <br /> colorful the donated and created by patrons and supporters of the off-leash dog area. City <br /> Volunteers In Parks staff and dog park volunteers will gather for the dedication and a dog <br /> birthday p rty at 3 p.m. Volunteers prepared the site for the bench at a work party earlier this <br /> year. The ark is located off of Leo Hams Parkway, behind Autzen Stadium. Parking is available <br /> in lot eight <br /> Fo the last two years, a group of key volunteers, ail patrons of the dog park, have <br /> worked wi City parks staff to design and maintain the dog park. The group raises funds and <br /> organizes rk parties. Volunteers In Parks Coordinator Troy Kreger says the group has been <br /> instrumen I in making the dog park a reality, identifying maintenance needs in the park, and <br /> realizing any of the more innovative features in the park, such as a dog washdown station, <br /> dog avast bag dispensers, and pedestrian nodes, gathering places where trails or paths <br /> intersect nd dogs and their owners can socialize.
