Overall revisions to the community park's master i plan, as we I as improvements prioritized for available funding, were developed in response to the diverse input gathered at the first two public meetings last fall and will be presented through displays an aself-guided tour of where and how the changes will occur. The improvements are funded byte 1998 parks and open space bond measure. Over 2 0 community members have participated in the planning process for the popular south Eug ne community park so far. Results of the previous two meetings as well as the draft developme t plan are available at www.a.eugene.onus/parks/Amazon/AMZ~roj.htm. The purpose of the current Amazon Park planning process is to prioritize improvements for the park, based on vailable bond measure funds, and update the existing master plan, based on more current pu lic input. The mmunity park includes a large playground, pool facility, ballfields, a running trail, bike path, off-le sh dog park, skatepark, and community gardens. Extensive natural areas include Amazon C eek, ash woodlands, restored wetlands, and a preserve for the endangered plant species, B dshaw's lomatium, or desert parsley.
