The event includes a site tour of the playground's unique play areas in their <br /> !P posed locatio . A play replica of Skinner Butte, an ancient history sand dig, miniature Willamette River, <br /> a d Kalapuya an pioneer villages will bring Eugene's cultural and natural history alive for children of all <br /> a es and abilities at this hands-on, state-of-the-art playground. <br /> The proje t is funded in part by the 1998 parks and open space bond measure, but, in order to <br /> aline the fuU s pe of the vision, donations of cash, labor and materials are needed from the community. <br /> T e Eugene Ro ry Club, in partnership with the City of Eugene, has pledged to help fund and build the <br /> p ayground at Sk nner Butte Park. Since the donation campaign was launched last April, nearly $90,000 has <br /> b en raised, incl ding a $30,000 grant from Oregon Community Foundation, $25,000 from the Eugene- <br /> pringfield New ar Dealers Association, $15,000 in advertising space from Valley River Center, $10,000 in <br /> i -kind donation from Jeny's, and nearly $6,000 from contributions from community members. to addition, <br /> pproximately $ 5,000 in in-kind donations is pending confirmation. <br /> RiverPla also includes another regional playground at Alton Ba r Park.
