Great prizes donated by local businesses such as clothing packages, a new bicycle, <br /> bi ycle accessori sand bicycle trailer are just a few of the rewards that registered commuters could win. <br /> People P veered Fridays will hold its July Celebration Event on Friday, July 16th near 18th and <br /> C ambers begin ing at 7 AM until 8:30 AM. People Powered Fridays is an annual summer promotion that <br /> ~e~courages non- otorized methods of transportation reducing impact on the transportation system and is <br /> <br /> ~I 'fo residents and commuters in the Eugene area who are interested in having fun during their commute <br /> <br /> +~r wile improving t e livability of the community. The benefits include improved air quality, improved fitness <br /> ~f those who pa icipate, a reduction in traffic congestion and, if sustained, a reduction in road degradation. <br /> A I that is reques ed of participants is a commitment to bike, walk, or use some other manual alternative to <br /> ~d iving one day a ch week during the summer months. <br /> Registrati ns for People Powered Fridays are still being accepted on the City of Eugene website <br /> .ci.eugene. r.us); at all three Eugene Public Library branches; at Sheldon, Amazon, and Echo Hollow <br /> Ep ols, and at ea h of the grand prize donors' retail locations: WheelWorks, Paul's Bicycle Way of Life, <br /> '~C Ilins Cycle Sh p, and REI.
