Funds <br /> for the pav ment repair projects come primarily from Eugene's 3-cent-per-gallon local fuel tax. <br /> i The Bertelsen project involves grinding off the top four inches of deteriorated paving and <br /> applying si inches of new asphaltic concrete. Approximately 5,300 tons of asphalt will be used <br /> to resurFa just under a mile of Bertelsen Road. <br /> The repair work on Bertelsen is scheduled to be completed bymid-September. During <br /> constructio ,traffic in work zones will be directed by flaggers. Motorists are advised to use <br /> alternate ro tes to avoid delays. <br /> Tw other pavement preservation projects are being done in Eugene this summer. <br /> Work has a ready begun on repairs to portions of Cal Young and Gilham roads, with grinding <br /> and paving ork scheduled to resume in that area on July 19.
