Biking and walking are great ways to receive a little exercise and <br /> ge to where you eed to go quickly! For instance, a 1.5 mile commute by bike will take less than 10 <br /> mi utes -about at it might take if you drive, considering traffic and finding parking. That same 1.5 mile <br /> corhimute might t ke 25-30 minutes by walking, but many consider walking quality "alone" time, a <br /> rejuvenating and r freshing way to commute. <br /> City of Eu ene Facilities Project Manager, Allan Stockler plans to use his kayak to assist him with <br /> I <br /> hi work commut Stockler says "Incorporating a little fresh air and fun into my work commute is a great <br /> w y to start my ay." in addition to the great prizes donated by local businesses such as clothing <br /> pal kages, a new icycle, bicycle accessories and bicycle trailer are just a few of the rewards that registered <br /> co muters could in, incentives include saving money normally spent on gas and maintenance and the <br /> kn wledge that re ucing vehicles on the road is good for our community. Reducing vehicles improves air <br /> q ality while redu ing congestion and improving traffic flow. <br /> People Po ered Fridays is an annual summer promotion that encourages non-motorized methods <br /> pf transportation educing impact on the transportation system and is for residents and commuters in the <br /> 1= gene area wh are interested in having fun during their commute while improving the livability of the <br /> is mmunity.
