August 6, 2 04 <br /> CONTACT: Gary McNeel, Project Manager, 541-682-8451 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 or 954-2938 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> Aug st 10 Public Meeting Focuses on Crest Drive Area Street Classification <br /> A pu lic meeting on street classification in the Crest Drive area has been scheduled for <br /> Tuesday, A gust 10, beginning at 6:45 p.m. in the picnic shelter at Morse Ranch Park. This <br /> meeting will help frame the issues around street classification and solicit public comments and <br /> suggestion for options and alternatives. A second public meeting will be held on Wednesday, <br /> September 9, at Crest Drive Elementary School, 1155 Crest Drive from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. <br /> ~ Ake question in the discussion around street classification in the Crest Drive area is <br /> whether so a streets should be designed as "neighborhood collectors." The City would like to <br /> involve a br ad range of people in this discussion. A website has been created at <br /> , www.ci.eug ne.or.us/pw/crest, which includes a variety of informational materials and a link so <br /> members o the public can email input to Project Manager Gary McNeel. A fact sheet with <br /> answers to requently asked questions has been updated, and all materials prepared for the <br /> public meet ngs will also be available on the website. Signs have been placed at several <br /> locations in the area so motorists who may not live in the neighborhood but use area roads are <br /> aware of th meetings. <br /> The outreach effort is being coordinated by the Eugene Public Works Engineering <br /> Division, wi h assistance from a local planning firm, Satre Associates.
