Controlling the spread of invasive weeds in the forest is one of the main
objectives of the Hendricks Park Forest Management Plan. By removing invasive plants, the native species
have a better opportun~y to reproduce and flourish in the forest. Over the past three years, volunteers,
contractors and park stiff have cleared ivy from about 16 acres of the park's forest. Following up with
removal of secondary invasive plants, such as Herb Robert and nipplewort, is essential for maintaining the
work that has been acggmpiished.
Tools and equiq~ment will be provided, and long-sleeved shirts, long pants and sturdy shoes or boots
are recommended.
