The Obsidi ns Clulb, a local non-profit group involved in hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing, cross <br /> I <br /> untry skiing, a d othe{~ outdoor activities, has teamed up with the City's Volunteers in Parks program to <br /> s race up wom nd overgrown trails along the Spencer Butte Ridgeline Trail. The upcoming effort will build <br /> n the accompli hment~ of the work party in October during which volunteers rehabilitated 100 feet of old <br /> t ail, deaned out culvert and drains, and cleared brush from 1.5 miles of trail. <br /> "This gro pis very energetic and enthusiastic and is highly motivated to do the strenuous work of <br /> pgrading these rails," laid Volunteers in Parks Coordinator Matt McRae. <br /> Water, p per fodtwear and appropriate clothing are recommended.
