"People <br /> quickly figured out how convenient Delta's service is, especially if they are heading to the Midwest or East <br /> Coast." <br /> Delta Air Lines began service between Eugene and Salt Lake City in May 2004. The flights filled quickly. <br /> Between June and September 2004, more than 85 percent of the seats on this route were occupied. <br /> "Delta's flights have been packed," says Noble, "Now Delta is building on that success." <br /> Beginning Monday, January 31, Delta will add a third daily round-trip flight. The new flight: <br /> ' Leaves Salt Lake 3:00 pm <br /> Arrives Eugene 3:55 pm <br /> Leaves Eugene 4:20 pm <br /> Arrives Salt Lake 7:00 pm <br /> ' The new schedule makes it even easier for business and vacation travelers to make meetings in Salt Lake <br /> City or connections to other cities. In addition, Delta Air Lines is enhancing its service in Salt Lake City. <br /> The new flight each day to Eugene is one of twelve new destinations and 54 new flights Delta Air Lines is <br /> adding to its already busy schedule in Salt Lake City. `"That gives Eugene travelers even more options," says <br /> Noble. <br /> ~ As an added bonus for travelers, Delta Air Lines has started a new program sharing connectivity and frequent <br /> ' ' flyer miles with Horizon, Alaska and Northwest Airlines. <br /> The Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce and the Eugene Airport convinced Delta Air Lines to begin the <br /> Eugene-to-Salt Lake City service by offering an incentive package that included having local area businesses <br /> guarantee more than $535,000 in sales the first year. Noble says local businesses used 80 percent of those <br /> travel bank commitments in the fast six months.
