Skinner Butte. Join local artist Martha Snyder, Mayor Kitty Piercy and representatives from the <br /> 'accessibility community in unveiling the bronze sculpture that provides a tactile view of the city panorama <br /> ,looking south from Skinner Butte to Spencer Butte for people who are visually impaired, as weA as provides <br /> ~ interesting artistic depiction of the scene for other visitors. It is mounted on a pedestal at a height that is <br /> accessible for wheelchair users. The project was funded by grants from Lane Arts Council and the City of <br /> Eugene Cultural Services with additional funding from a Lane County Tourism Special Projects Grant and <br /> tie pity of Eugene Parks and Open Space. <br /> "This project has been in the works far the last three years,° says Snyder, who has created similar <br /> ~actlle graphics of Crater Lake National Park and Fort Clatsop National Memorial and tactile translations of <br /> !,bregon artist Maude Kerns' paintings.
