~ .C? <br /> February 3, 2005 <br /> CONTACT: Tony Jobanek, Street and Surface Maintenance Supervisor, 682-4800 <br /> Frpm Public Information Section, 682-5523 or 954-2938 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> Concrete Street Repairs May Slow Traffic on Fairmount Boulevard and Agate Street <br /> During the next three to four weeks, traffic may be affected by repair work on Fairmount <br /> Boulevard at Villard Street and on Agate Street between 22"d and 24th avenues. <br /> Beginning on Monday, February 7, Public Works Maintenance crews will be working in the <br /> eastbound lane on Fairmount at Villard Street to repair several concrete street sections. Expect lane <br /> closures and detours. Once work on the eastbound lane is complete, crews will begin work in the <br /> j westbound lane. <br /> Starting in mid-February, the northbound lane of Agate Street between 24th and 22"~ avenues <br /> will be closed while concrete street panels are replaced. Watch for lane closures and detours. Crews <br /> 'will begin work in the southbound lane once the northbound lane repairs are complete. <br /> "These concrete street repairs are required due to concrete panel failures and are part of the <br /> Public Works Maintenance Division's ongoing, annual concrete street and alley maintenance <br /> program," said Tony Jobanek, supervisor of the City's Street and Surface Maintenance Section. The <br /> program, which is funded through the road fund operating budget, uses a combination of site <br /> inspections and data from the City's pavement management system to prioritize needed repair work. <br /> Later this spring, additional concrete repairs will occur at locations including 13th Avenue and <br /> <br /> i Kincaid, Pearl Street at 4th Avenue, Pearl Street at 17th Avenue, 18th Avenue between Polk and <br /> I' Chambers streets, and Villard between 15"' and 19th avenues.
