The Obsidians Club, a local non-profit group involved in <br /> i <br /> i h~kin~, backpacking, mountain climbing, cross country skiing, and other outdoor activities, has sponsored <br /> n~onl±hly work parties since last October and is making significant progress on Ridgeline trails. So far, over <br /> 100 feet of trail has been rehabilitated, dozens of culverts and drains have been cleared of debris, and <br /> brush has been cleared from 1.5 miles of trail. On Saturday, Obsidians and any other interested community <br /> n~errtbers will help parks staff build a retainer wail in an effort to narrow an existing trail and protect fragile <br /> hYabitat. <br /> "This group is very energetic and enthusiastic and is highly motivated to do the strenuous work of <br /> j Upgwading these trails," says Volunteers in Parks Coordinator Matt McRae. <br /> This work party is open to anyone interested. Water, proper footwear and appropriate clothing are <br /> 'i"iecommended. Instruction, tools and snacks will be provided.
