The plants to be used in the project were grown-out at
tt~e pkogram's volunteer-run native plant nurseries. This project, along with several others this past winter,
wNill gp a long way towards rejuvenating the riparian forest along the river. Interested volunteers can park off
h~eo Harris Parkway in the lot right across from the main entrance to Autzen Stadium and follow the signs to
i tl~e north end of Autzen Footbridge.
"The digging is easy--in nice, Loamy soils," says Stream Team Coordinator Lorna Baldwin. "Thanks
tip many Stream Team volunteers, we have planted over 1,500 trees along the river in the past month!"
Tools, gloves and snacks will be provided. Clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather and
rugged conditions are recommended. Stream Team provides the opportunity for people to do hands-on
environmental work, restoring and caring for the city's waterways and natural areas.
