This project is phase two of an effort that began last year to plant more
tnlees in this west Eugene neighbofiood. Last year 21 trees were planted, and this year, 19 Japanese
pagoda and trident maple trees will further enhance the urban forest in this area.
"VVe are very excited about the very diverse mix of trees we picked for this site, and it will look
a~ve~ome in the years to come," says NeighborWoods Coordinator Rick Olkowski. "This is the last tree
;planting project before the big Arbor Day event on April 9, so anyone who was unable to join us in our other
p~ojeicts, here is another opportunity."
; Tools, gloves, safety gear, and refreshments will be provided. The NeighborWoods program works
;with Incal businesses, school groups, community groups, and neighbors to build Eugene's urban forest and
inhprdve water quality by planting street trees. For more information about this or other tree planting
projects, call 582-4831.
'
